Man hurt in shooting on N. Capital Street in Suffolk

Police say the 28-year-old man was treated at the scene by Suffolk Fire & Rescue, then refused to be taken to a hospital.

SUFFOLK, Va. — A man is hurt after a shooting in Suffolk Wednesday night.

According to Suffolk police, officers responded to the 100 block of North Capital Street after getting reports of gunshots.

Once officers got to the scene, they found one man with a gunshot wound. Police say the 28-year-old man was treated at the scene by Suffolk Fire & Rescue, then refused to be taken to a hospital. 

Police say several shell casings were found at the scene and two unoccupied cars were damaged. 

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
