Dolly Parton's 'Imagination Library' coming to Newport News

Children ages 0 to 5 in two zip codes have the opportunity to get free books from the foundation. Each month, they'll get a brand new, age-appropriate book in the mail until they turn 5.

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — The Dolly Parton reading train is rolling into Hampton Roads!

Her Imagination Library and the DeGood Foundation are hoping to get books into the hands of every child.

Children ages 0 to 5 in the zip codes of 23606 (Newport News) and 23692 (York County) will be able to get free books from the foundation. Each month, they'll get a brand new, age-appropriate book in the mail until they turn 5.

Parents, grandparents and/or guardians of children in the approved zip codes can register online or download the registration form and mail it to:

While children in zip codes 23606 and 23692 are the only ones eligible at this time, The DeGood Foundation plans to expand as soon as they can raise additional funds.
