NORFOLK, Va. — Bon Secours in Norfolk announced it is closing its birthing center at DePaul Medical Center.

All planned childbirth services will stop on March 15.

Hospital officials said a staff shortage is why the birthing center is closing.

Physicians are applying to provide future deliveries at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Bon Secours DePaul says additional resources will be given to impacted patients.
