One coronavirus case associated with high school in Newport News

The Peninsula Health District said one person who tested positive for coronavirus was associated with Woodside High School.

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Newport News Public Schools sent a letter to Woodside High School families letting them know one person associated with the school had tested positive for coronavirus.

The letter said that the person was directed to self-quarantine, but officials did not identify the position the person held with the school.

The school district said the Peninsula Health District informed them of the relation, which means the person has already been included in their official count of cases in the area.
