Don't touch your face! Can you do it?

Even the 13News Now crew had a hard time not doing it. See for yourself.

NORFOLK, Va. — Can you do it? It's hard not to. We're talking about not touching your face.

Through this pandemic known as Coronavirus or COVID-19, one of many pieces of advice we've heard from medical and health experts is "don't touch your face."

Why is that?

It's simple, really. When you touch something, you pick up the bacteria and germs on that surface. Touching your face area afterward means you may contract whatever is on your fingers, i.e. possibly Coronavirus.

The Association of Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology reports the average person touches their face 23 times an hour!

Give it a try. Can you not touch your face for an hour?

We put the 13News Now crew to the test and filmed some of our staff without telling them why. Watch the video above to see how they did.

Another reminder: wash your hands!
