All You Can Eat Week: Brothers Pizza food challenge

"All You Can Eat Week" on 13News Now Daybreak takes us to Brothers Pizza in Virginia Beach.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- Step into Brothers Pizza and it’s pretty obvious that they know how to do pizza right.

Owner Brian Blair said, “It’s something that’s a passion of ours."

The bigger the pie the better, right? Blair and his business partner Eli Miller cooked up what they call the "Big Brother Challenge."

Now, what is it? It's a 24-inch pizza, stretched out to perfection with three toppings of your choosing. It can be yours free...if you finish it in under an hour.

"You come in and you think, 'Yeah, I’m hungry. I can do this,'” said Blair.

Kristina Robinson and I started off strong. Easy, peasy! Or so we thought...Three slices in each, and you could even say we were feeling cocky.

But then, it happened.

Four slices in for Kristina and five slices for me, we were defeated. And apparently, we aren’t alone. You could say the odds were never in our favor.

“You sit down. It turns out to be a lot more food than you first expected,” Blair explained. “We have a third success rate on the challenge; for every nine teams that do it, maybe three do it successfully.”

The experience is worth every bite, and you won’t be leaving hungry.
