Someone shot Eley in the 4000 block of Ketch Drive, just down the road from the home where he lived with his grandparents.

A family member told 13News Now the victim was shot in the face.

'I want to know whoever hurt him, to let 'em know that not only did they hurt him, but they hurt his family, friends. They took him away from us,' said Shelita Eley. 'I don't know what to do, but thankGod we got a good family, and we're gonna hold tight, and let 'em know they didn't break this up. You only made us stronger.'

Eley's family (which includes his 5-year-old daughter) will hold a vigil Thursday night where he died on Ketch Drive. People plan to gather at 6:00 p.m.
