Police search for man who exposed himself in Chesapeake

Police are looking for a man who exposed himself to an 11-year-old in a Chesapeake business.

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WVEC) — Chesapeake police are searching for a man who exposed himself to a little girl.

On Tuesday, December 11 around 5 p.m., officers responded to a Dollar Tree located in the 1100 Block of Military Highway. A man exposed himself to an 11-year-old girl inside.

“In a matter of five seconds this happened to my daughter, I never thought it would happen to my daughter," said the girl's mother, who did not want to be identified.

“The first thing she said to me was, 'mom the man over there has pulled his private parts out at me and he’s playing with them," said the mother.

The mother immediately went up to the man.

“So I found him in the back where the party supplies were, and he was hiding behind the display, so I couldn’t see him," said the mother.

The mother confronted the man and he ran out of the store.

“I chased him out the door, and that’s when I asked him why he exposed himself to my daughter and he turned around and laughed at me and started running,” said the mother.

The mother said she stopped chasing in fear for her own safety.

“I didn’t want to go to close to him I didn’t know if he had a gun or he could have hit me or anything," said the mother.

Police described the suspect as 40-45 years old, 5’10”, 155 lbs, wearing a black ball cap, black and grey sweatshirt, and dark pants.

“This man is sick, he needs help, I want him caught more than anything in the world,” said the mother. "My daughter won’t go out the house, she won’t play with any of her friends, I have to drive her to school, I have to pick her up from school, she tells me every day she sees this man every day in her head."

If anyone has information about who this man might be, they are asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
