FRIDAY FLAVOR: Noir A Simply Panache Lounge in Hampton

A new nightlife social club is adding some old school flair to the Phoebus neighborhood in Hampton. NOIR offers savory menu items you must try.

HAMPTON, Va. — Exclusive is the name of the game at NOIR: A Simply Panache Lounge. Where style and flair meet classy and sleek. 

Created by the same owners that brought you Mango Mangeux and Simply Panache Nail Bar & Pedi Spa, this members-only lounge offers amenities you wouldn't be able to find anywhere else in Hampton. 

This lounge is targeted to professionals 26 and up who are looking for an alternative option to their typical nightlife scene in Hampton.

 "There's not a lot of nightlife after 9 p.m. and we wanted to give the community something that was exclusive. Something that people would not traditionally find here," said owner Lakesha Brown-Renfro.

From movie nights to cocktail mixing classes to dance lessons, there is a variety of entertainment at NOIR

Then there are the must-try savory menu items.  

"We have lobster mac and cheese. Asparagus with a crab cream sauce. We also have fried okra with creole ranch dressing and andouille poppers in our neo-soul egg rolls, which are pretty unique. They are ... stuffed with collard greens as well as black-eyed peas with rice and cheddar," said Brown-Renfro.

Expect to hear neo-soul, smooth jazz, reggae, hip-hop and old school R&B play throughout the night. NOIR has a live in-house 10-piece band that plays on the weekends. 

They have a percussionist, drums, three vocalists, piano, guitar, and a tenor saxophone player. Duane Smith of the Fuzz Band is the trumpet player.  

Remember, you need a membership to get in. They come in different levels; Modern, Social and High Society.
