HAMPTON, Va. (WVEC) — Hampton Police Division is investigating a shooting that happened early Saturday morning.

The shooting killed two men and injured a third.

Around 4:53 a.m., Public Safety Communications received a call in reference to two walk-in gunshot victims at Sentara CarePlex Hospital, police said.

The first victim, Eric Caesar Witherspoon Jr., 24, of Newport News, was pronounced dead shortly after arriving. The second victim was treated for injury and has been released.

At 5:28 a.m., Public Safety Communications received a call in reference to a shooting in the 900 block of North King Street, police said.

Arriving officers found a man inside a residence suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on scene.

Police identified him as Treviyon Lamonta Hill, 27, of Smithfield.

Originally police were investigating these cases as two separate homicides, but further investigation revealed the first two men were also shot in the 900 block of North King Street.

The motive and circumstances surrounding both incidents remain under investigation and there is no suspect information.
