Hampton Police search for restaurant shooting suspect

HAMPTON, Va. (WVEC) — Warrants have been issued for a suspect who allegedly shot a man last week at the White Oak Lodge restaurant in Hampton, police said.

Investigators said the shooting happened just after midnight on Friday, September 28. Arriving officers found a 30-year-old Hampton man suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

The victim told officers he and the suspect were at the restaurant when they got into a verbal argument. The suspect left the business, and then returned with a gun and shot the victim.

Police say 36-year-old Joshua Tyrone Harris of Hampton is now charged with one count of maiming, one count of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and one count of shooting within an occupied dwelling.

Harris is currently at large. Detectives ask that if you know of his whereabouts or have any information about this shooting, to call the Hampton Police Division at 757-727-6111 or the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
