Man hurt in Hampton shooting

A 28-year-old man was in his vehicle when an unknown person fired several gunshots at his vehicle.

HAMPTON, Va. — A man is recovering in the hospital after a person fired shots at him while he was sitting in a vehicle Tuesday night, Hampton police officials said.

The shooting happened around 9:49 p.m. in the 100 block of Golden Gate Drive. A 28-year-old man was in his vehicle when an unknown person fired several gunshots at the vehicle.

Officers found the man hurt with one gunshot wound.

He was taken to a local hospital. His injuries are considered minor.

The motive and circumstances remain under investigation. 

Police said there is no suspect information at this time.
