HAMPTON, Va. (WVEC) -- Police in Hampton are asking for the public's help to identify the suspects who were involved in two separate shootings in recent days.
The first shooting happened late Friday night in the area of Hampton Club Drive and Hardy Cash Drive. Police responded the area after there were several calls of shots fired. While on scene, officers learned two men had been taken to Sentara Careplex with non-life threatening gunshot wounds.
The victims told police they had been driving in the area when unknown individuals began firing toward their vehicle, striking both of them as a result. No suspect description was available.
The second shooting happened around 2:18 p.m. on Saturday in the 2000 block of Cunningham Drive. The victim, a 17-year-old male from Williamsburg, walked into the hospital with a gunshot wound. He was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The victim told police he had been walking in the area when he was approached by the suspects, who displayed a gun and demanded money. A struggle ensued, and the victim was shot as a result. Again, no suspect description was available.
Police said that both instances have strong narcotics overtones, and that they remain under investigation.
