RESET team to be deployed at Buckroe Beach

City of Hampton’s Rapid Engagement of Support in the Event of Trauma (R.E.S.E.T.) Team will be at Buckroe Beach to improve the community after shooting.

HAMPTON, Va. — The City of Hampton's Rapid Engagement of Support in the Event of Trauma (R.E.S.E.T.) Team will be at Buckroe Beach on Thursday, June 27.

The RESET team is stopping in Buckroe Beach at 6 p.m. because they have a vested interest in collaboratively improving the overall well-being of their neighbors and the communities in their city after the shooting that injured two children and two adults on June 22.

The R.E.S.E.T Team is a collaborative effort involving the Hampton Police Division, Hampton Victim Services Unit, and the Hampton Youth Violence Prevention Office. It's comprised of citizens and city employees who will visit communities after their community has experienced a traumatic event.

These volunteers will be wearing safety vests that clearly identify them as R.E.S.E.T. team members. While going door to door on Thursday, the team members will offer residents packets that will include information that can assist them and their neighbors in the recovery process as well as offer prevention and intervention services that can improve their quality of life.
