NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WVEC) -- An industrial storage building in Newport News was severely damaged in a fire Saturday morning.

Initially, just after 1 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to brush fire in the area of Nettles Drive. As crews were responding, the call was updated to a structure fire in the 300 block of Bell King Road, according to Assistant Fire Chief Robert Craft with Newport News Fire.

Firefighters arrived to the scene at 1:08 a.m. to find a storage building fully-involved in flames. The fire was brought under control at 1:31 a.m.

The building suffered heavy fire damage. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
