City of Norfolk hosts affordable rabies clinic June 15

It's only $5 to get the rabies shot, but all animals must be at least 12 weeks old.

NORFOLK, Va. — The Department of Public Health is holding a rabies clinic for dogs and cats June 15. The June 1 clinic was rescheduled. 

The event will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Norfolk Health Center located at 830 Southampton Avenue. 

The cost is $5 per animal, and they are only accepting cash. All animals must be at least 12 weeks old. Cats must be in carriers and dogs must be on leashes. 

A previous rabies certificate is required for the 3-year vaccine. For animals without a certificate, a 1-year vaccine will be administered. 

Norfolk residents will also be able to obtain pet licenses during the event.

Free parking is available around the building and in the adjacent Parking Lot #6.
