NORFOLK, Va., (WVEC) -- Jason's Deli is teaming up with Eastern Virginia Medical School in June to spotlight cancer research at the Leroy T. Canoles Jr. Cancer Research Center.
During the month of June, Jason’s Deli customers will have an opportunity to round up their purchase to support cancer research at EVMS.
Participating locations include:
- 4512 Virginia Beach Blvd., in Virginia Beach
- 717 Eden Way N., in Chesapeake.
"We wanted to pair up with EVMS because everyone is affected by cancer. Even in our own stores one of our own employees came up to me and said she was affected personally and is a survivor," Hope Dennis, Jason's Deli local sales manager, said.
"So this is something we can be proud of. This is a school in our back yard and we can see where the money is going locally and how it is working in our community. We have gotten a chance to tour the center and this is a partnership we can grow with."
The cancer research center focuses on the most prevalent types of cancer in the area.
