Suspect in custody following double shooting in Norfolk

A man injured in a double shooting in Norfolk faces a number of charges, including second-degree murder.

NORFOLK, Virginia — Police have charged a 22-year-old man after a double shooting that claimed one man's life and injured another on Alexander Street early Tuesday morning.

Shakir H. Holley was charged with second-degree murder, use of a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Around 12:40 a.m., dispatchers got a call about a gunshot disturbance in the 6200 block of Alexander Street in Norfolk.

Once officers arrived there, they found Holley suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Just minutes later, dispatch got another call about a gunshot victim in the 1200 block of Strand Street.

Police found 23-year-old Isaiah D. Bond suffering from numerous injuries and pronounced him dead at that scene.

Holley was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and once investigators learned more, they arrested and charged Holley.
