PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WVEC) -- Firefighters were up early battling a house fire in Portsmouth on Monday morning.

The fire broke out on Dinwiddie Street in Olde Towne just before 4 a.m.

There's significant damage to the home. Firefighters are still going through it, to determine what started it as well as putting out any hot spots.

The displaced homeowners told 13News Now reporter Elise Brown that the home had been in the family for more than 20 years.
