PORTSMOUTH, Va. — A few dogs at the Portsmouth Humane Society are looking for a little R and R (rest and recuperation).
The shelter is looking for temporary fosters to take in a dog from June 28 to 30 for a little summer vacation. This is an opportunity for the dogs to meet new friends, and hopefully, a new family.
Anyone interested in fostering should fill out an application online.
If there's a specific pup that catches a fosters eye, make sure to make a note of them at the bottom of the application.
Foster parents are an important part of the shelter's mission. Fostering gives the animals a chance to become more adoptable by teaching them how to behave in a home.
