PORTSMOUTH, Va. — After nearly a year of repair work on a crack that was found in the Portsmouth pavilion main support mast, crews expect to be finished restoring the venue by June.

Dana Woodson with the city of Portsmouth confirmed that repairs on the Union Bank & Trust Pavilion are still underway and will continue into the summer.

Last May, a routine inspection of the pavilion found a safety issue created by a 5/8-inch to 3/4-inch crack.

According to engineers working on repairs, they hope to be finished with their work by June 18.

Lionel Richie's tour is making a stop at the pavilion on July 10.
