SUFFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- Authorities have closed a stretch of Nansemond Pkwy. to remove a large construction crane that went into a ditch beside the roadway Thursday morning.

We're told officers were called to the 4500 block of Nansemond Pkwy. at 11:11 a.m. about a crane veering into the ditch.

Traffic will be detoured through Shoulders Hill Rd. and Bennetts Pasture Rd. That portion of the road will be closed for several hours as crews work to dig out the crane with another crane.

No one was injured.

No other details have been released at this time, including what caused the incident.
