Injured construction worker rescued off roof by Suffolk Fire & Rescue

The construction worker injured his arm and was unable to get off a roof by himself.

SUFFOLK, Va. — Suffolk Fire and Rescue rescued a man after he was injured on a construction site and unable to get down from a roof Saturday.

Crews responded to a call around 9:50 a.m. at Lake Kilby Water Treatment Plant at 105 Maury Place for a report of an industrial accident, PIO Andy Franklin said.

A man working on a construction project injured his arm and was unable to get down from a roof by himself, Franklin said.

Crews did a technical rescue and hoisted the man off the roof using a construction crane. The man was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

The rescue was complete around 10:15 a.m.
