Two separate accidents cause closures on Route 58 in Suffolk

SUFFOLK, Va. — Suffolk Police and Suffolk Fire & Rescue units worked two separate accidents on Route 58 Eastbound at the Landfill on Thursday morning.

Emergency Communications was contacted at 7 a.m. and 7:15 a.m. about the accidents.  

The first accident involved a vehicle that ran off the road, hit a guardrail and landed in a flooded ditch.

Two people in the vehicle were treated for minor injuries.

The second accident involved a rear-end collision between two vehicles in the same area. No injuries were reported.

One travel lane was closed as emergency personnel responded to the incidents.

The cause of the accidents remains under investigation.
