VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- Virginia Beach police are investigating a bank robbery that happened around 10:08 a.m. Wednesday.
Officials say it happened at the Fulton Bank located at 3545 Dam Neck Road.
The suspect entered the bank, displayed a handgun and demanded money. The man obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and ran.
Before the suspect exited the building, he left behind an object.
Police believed it was a suspicious package, and cordoned off the area. A bomb squad was called in. After investigating, officials have determined the object was not a threat.
Virginia Beach police tweeted the suspect was last seen headed southbound toward Princess Anne Road by the LongHorn Steakhouse at the Landstown Commons Shopping Center.

No injuries were reported.
Police described the suspect as a male of undetermined race, standing approximately 5'9" tall, with a medium build.
