VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- A child was hit by a car in the 6200 block of Drew Drive this morning.

Tonya Pierce, a spokeswoman for Virginia Beach police, said the child was sitting in the driveway waiting for his bus when a car pulled up and hit him.

When officers got there, the kid was under the vehicle.

The child suffered minor injuries.

Samantha Jackson works at a daycare not too far from the bus stop. She told 13News Now the boy attends the daycare in the mornings and afternoons. As soon as she heard about the incident, she rushed to the scene to see if he was okay.

"He was conscious-- he was talking. They had to jack the car to get the car off of him. His mom is really emotional about it," she said.
