VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- Fire officials say a house was damaged after a fire sparked in a garage Saturday morning in Virginia Beach.

Firefighters arrived to the fire in the 5300 block of Bosworth Road shortly before 1 a.m. to find heavy flames coming from the garage of a one-story house.

Battalion Chief Brian Sullivan tells 13News Now crews were able to control the fire within 15 minutes, however, the house suffered significant fire and smoke damage.

All residents were outside the home when firefighters arrived. One occupant was treated by emergency crews.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
