VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- Virginia Beach Police say they are trying to identify women who were secretly filmed changing into bathing suits at a 17th Street Surf Shop changing room.

This comes after a woman claims she saw a store employee shooting cell phone video of herself changing on August 24 at the surf shop located in the Red Mill Commons Shopping Center. Police obtained a search warrant and discovered additional videos of other women changing in the dressing room on the employee's phone.

Virginia Beach Police's Special Victims Unit is now trying to identify these additional victims. The SVU detective assigned to the case would like to hear from any potential victim who fits the following description:

  • A white female, between the ages of 18-40 who tried on dresses or bathing suits in the dressing room at the 17th Street Surf shop located at 2217 Upton Drive, in the Red Mill Commons, between August 10 and August 22, 2016.

If you feel this description matches you, please contact the Virginia Beach Police Department Special Victims Unit Monday through Friday between 9 am and 5 pm at 757-385-4101 and ask for any Special Victims Unit detective.

Police say 17th Street Surf Shop is fully cooperating with this investigation, and investigators ask that any questions be directed at the Virginia Beach Police Department Special Victims Unit instead of the store itself.
