VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- Police are investigating after two bodies were found inside a Virginia Beach home.

Officers found the bodies Sunday on Peregrine Street, not far from North Witchduck Road. The discovery came after a call to see if everything was OK at the house.

Neighbor Betty Anderson said a woman in her 40s and her 13-year-old daughter lived in inside the home. Anderson said the woman kept to herself.

"Very shocked, yep, because she was a loner," said Anderson. "She used to go to work and everything like that and then she got sick and it was just her and her daughter. Like her daughter was attached to her hip."

Anderson's son, Anthony Joseph, described the daughter as "sweet" and said she always took care of her mom.

"She helped her mom a lot for a 13-year-old you know," said Joseph. "A nurse came there once in a while throughout the week but her daughter was like her right hand."

Both Anderson and Joseph said the mother suffered from multiple sclerosis and used to be a nurse. They said they had a friendly relationship with their neighbors.

"I would love to know what happened and I hope no one did this to them and I hope, you know, they didn't do this to themselves but right now it's a mystery to me and I guess everyone else," said Joseph.

Police have not yet identified the two people found inside the home.

Right now, the cause of the deaths is undetermined, but investigators are not seeking any suspects.
