VIRGINIA BEACH, Va (WVEC) -- The man accused of holding a T.C.C. professor at gunpoint in a bathroom appeared in court his preliminary hearing.

For the first time, 38-year-old Jarod Jones faced the woman who said he held a gun to her head at the Virginia Beach campus.

She explained feeling like she was going to die that day in June as she screamed for her life.

“He told me, ‘Don’t scream’ three times,” she testified.

Jones allegedly ran off and was arrested days later.

The adjunct professor said she was familiar with Jones, a former student at the campus.

“He was very polite,” she explained.

Still, she was shocked when he confronted her in the woman's bathroom.

After testimony, a judge certified misdemeanor and felony firearm charges against Jones.

An abduction charge was dropped because of insufficient evidence.
