VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- Regan Hurley was on her balcony at the Dolphin Inn Saturday night when bullets overtook the sound of waves.
"I've never heard nine in a row... you know they just kept coming," Hurley told 13News Now on the phone from her home in Fredricksburg Sunday. She was visiting Virginia Beach with her family Saturday night when two people were shot at the Oceanfront, according to police.
"I took my son and ducked him down and put him inside," said Hurley.
Hurley dialed 911 and headed towards the hotel office. On the way, she came face to face with one of the people hit by gunfire, a woman who was wounded and bleeding.
According to police, that woman is expected to be okay, but another victim has serious injuries.
