VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- Virginia Beach City Public Schools will provide free breakfast and lunch meals to children 18 years and younger this summer.

It's part of the Summer Food Service Program administered through the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) and funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) which reimburses the school division for meals served.

Children do not have to be enrolled in Virginia Beach schools to receive free meals.

Children only need to show up at any open summer meal site during the designated hours to receive a meal.
