Currituck County officers make arrest in drug investigation

CURRITUCK COUNTY, N.C. (WVEC) — The Currituck County Sheriff's Office made an arrest of a woman when they seized over eight pounds of marijuana and other items.

Sheriff Matt Beickert and the Currituck County Sheriff's Office commitment to conduct major crime and drug investigations has led to the seizure of about eight pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of $12,000 on Thursday, November 15.

During the investigation, the Currituck Sheriff's Narcotics Investigators partners with the Pasquotank County Narcotics Officers for a joint investigation that resulted in the arrest of 32-year-old Sienna Marie Gilmore of the 200 block of Shingle Landing Road in Moyock.

Officers were able to get a search warrant for her property and found a firearm, cash, and drug paraphernalia in addition to the marijuana.

Currituck County Officers seized approximately eight pounds of marijuana with a street value of up to $12,000, a firearm, cash, and assorted drug paraphernalia.

Gilmore has been charged with felony Manufacture Sell Distribute Possess (MSDP) Controlled Substance within 1000 feet of school property, felony Maintain a Dwelling Place/Controlled Substance, felony Possess Marijuana, and misdemeanor Possess Marijuana Paraphernalia.

She was released on an $11,000 secured bond.

The North Carolina ALE Officers assisted in searching Gilmore's property.
