NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- Old Dominion University (ODU) opened its new student retail store on Nov. 2.
The store, named "THE Monarch Way," allows students, alumni, faculty and staff entrepreneurs the ability to gain selling experience in a retail environment.
THE Monarch Way, a traditional brick and mortar store, hosts more than 15 vendors that sell products such as candles, artwork, fire starter kits, gourmet bacon treats and so much more.
ODU's former Chief Operating Officer David Harnage developed the idea as an alternative to the sellers solely making profits from online sales.
