Suffolk Police searching for suspects accused of robbing two convenience stores at gunpoint

Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the two male suspects.

SUFFOLK, Va. — It happened to two convenience stores in the same hour.

Suffolk police said two male suspects are accused of robbing two convenience stores at gunpoint on Tuesday.

The two suspects are still on the run, and police are asking for the public’s help in identifying them.

The first armed robbery was reported to police at 9:14 p.m. at the 7-Eleven store in the 800-block of Carolina Road.

From there, police said the suspects did the same thing at a different store. The second time, it was at just before 10 p.m. inside the Raceway store in the 1200 block of Portsmouth Boulevard.

During both incidents, police said the suspects showed handguns and demanded money from employees.

They fled both scenes. Police do not have any vehicle information.

During both incidents, the suspects left with an undisclosed amount of money.

Ramon Torres owns a towing company down the road from the Raceway that was robbed.

He said it’s where he pumps gas every day after work. He happened to be out of town when the armed robbery occurred.

“I’m glad I wasn’t here, especially for my safety. If I would’ve been here, I would’ve called 9-1-1,” said Torres.

Torres said the area has a lot of traffic and he typically feels safe there.

“I was kind of surprised, especially over here because a lot of people come by,” said Torres.

There were no injuries reported in either incident.

Police are still investigating the two crimes. If you have any information related to the suspects, you’re asked to call the Crime Line, at 1-8-8-8 LOCK-U-UP.
