According to Floyd E. Kellam High School's Facebook page, the Virginia Beach Police Department worked through the night investigating social media exchanges. Investigators found no evidence of substantiated threats against the school.
Dr. Smith, the principal, addressed the school through the morning announcements and sent an alert Thursday morning assuring staff and students they were safe.
Because no threats were found to be credible, the school will operate on a normal schedule, but there will be an increased police presence on campus.
