Ashanti Alert canceled, 18-year-old Accomack County woman found safe

Virginia State Police said 18-year-old Vermelle Tontrese Moore from Accomack County was found safe. Police are still looking for her abductor Jerry A. Satchell.

ACCOMACK COUNTY, Va. — UPDATE: The Virginia State Police canceled the Critically Missing Adult alert for 18-year-old Vermelle Tontrese Moore after she was found safe.

She was safely located in Maryland shortly before 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

Virginia State Police said they are still looking for her abductor, Jerry A. Satchell, 20, of Horntown, Va. He is wanted for one felony count of abduction, one felony count of destruction of property, and one felony count of assault.

Satchell is a black male with black hair and brown eyes. He is 5'11 and weighs 185 lbs. He was last seen wearing a black-and-white checkered shirt, dark pants, and a red hat.

Police said the green Ford F-150 he was driving was located.

The Virginia State Police have issued a Critically Missing Adult alert from Accomack County on Wednesday.

Officers said 18-year-old Tontrese Vermelle is missing. She was believed to be abducted and in danger. She was last seen on Wednesday around 3:20 a.m. at Captains Cove.

She is 5'3" and weighs about 135 pounds. Police said she has brown eyes and blonde hair. 

In the alert, officers said she is believed to be with Jerry Antonie Satchell, a 20-year-old man who is 5'11" and weighs 185 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white checkered shirt, dark pants, and a red hat.

He was last seen driving a 1993 green Ford F-150 with Virginia tags 5792UX.
