House fire in Onancock sends two to hospital

Two people were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation after a house fire in Onancock.

Crews from Onancock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a house fire that sent two people to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

ONANCOCK, Va. — Two people are in the hospital for smoke inhalation after a house fire in Onancock.

Stations 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 and Ladder 9 of the Onancock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire on Bobtown Road in Melfa. Crews from ladder 9 worked on suppressing the fire while other crews searched, extinguished, and ventilated.

Station 7 later arrived to help with overhaul.
