NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) — When it comes to being sinful, four cities in Hampton Roads make the list...well, a list. WalletHub put together 2019's Most Sinful Cities in America. Among those in our area, Norfolk scored highest.

Keep in mind, out of the 182 ranked cities, Norfolk placed 157, so it's not exactly a hotbed of sinfulness on the list. Newport News came in at 172. Virginia Beach placed 174, and Chesapeake was the final city from Hampton Roads to score. It was 178.

Richmond was the highest-ranked city in Virginia at 53. Washington, D.C was 23 on the list.

  • Anger & Hatred
  • Jealousy
  • Excesses & Vices
  • Greed
  • Lust
  • Vanity
  • Laziness

A bunch of comparisons and number-crunching followed until WalletHub came up with the ranking. By the way, under the Lust dimension, Chesapeake was among cities with "Fewest Adult Entertainment Establishments per Capita."

It's probably not a huge surprise, but Sin City, itself -- Las Vegas -- took the number one spot. Here's a look at the top 10:

  1. Las Vegas
  2. Los Angeles
  3. New York
  4. Houston
  5. St. Louis
  6. Atlanta
  7. Miami
  8. Philadelphia
  9. Chicago
  10. Orlando

Earlier this year, WalletHub ranked the most sinful states. Virginia came in at 23. North Carolina placed 25.
