Jamestown High School officials, police investigating social media post

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WVEC) -- Williamsburg-James City County School division, along with law enforcement authorities are investigating after a threatening image surfaced on social media.

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WVEC) -- Williamsburg-James City County School division, along with law enforcement authorities are investigating after a threatening image surfaced on social media.

According to the school spokesperson, Betsy Overkamp-Smith, the screen shot showed "kill all jamestown students" listed as an event on January 12th at 6:30 p.m. in the same format as the rest of the school's calendar events.

Jamestown High School officials say the image did not come from the school's actual online calendar, rather an altered image made by students on their own computer.

Overkamp-Smith says school officials know which students were involved in the alleged making of the image and there was no threat to the rest of the school.
