VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) — Two Virginia Beach sisters are splitting a $10 million prize after purchasing a winning ticket in the Virginia Lottery's "100X the Money" scratcher game.

Juanita Simpson and Sharon Calhoun had the choice between taking the full $10 million over 30 years, or splitting a one-time cash option of $5,617,977 before taxes. The sisters chose the cash option.

The ticket was sold at a Food Lion located on Jefferson Avenue in Newport News. The Virginia Lottery says the sisters were in Newport News visiting their brother. When he left to go shopping, they asked he pick up a ticket for them. After he returned, they scratched it off and discovered they had won.
