VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- A sailor based out of Virginia Beach was sentenced to 15 months in prison Thursday for making a series of bomb threats last summer.
The threats were directed at Navy assets aboard Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek.
Court documents showed Allante Martanaze Arrington, 24, made upwards of 12 threatening communications by phone to U.S. Navy ships and installation facilities in August 2017.
Authorities were able to identify Arrington through cell phone records.
He was assigned to one of the ships he threatened.
The short and vague calls prompted a significant response from officials. The threats also caused Navy units to shelter in place for hours on the days they were made.
