NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — The city of Newport News and other local organizations are coming together to host a job fair Tuesday, March 5.

The job fair kicks off the dedication for the Four Oaks Day Service Center — and is a collaboration with the city, Volunteers of America Chesapeake, Virginia Career Works - Greater Peninsula, and the Virginia Employment Commission.

It's from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 7401 Warwick Boulevard.

During the event, a variety of employers will be on-site sharing information on current job openings and will be accepting resumes from job seekers.

Participating employers include Amazon, Top Guard Security, Waste Management, Walmart Distribution Center, McDonald's, Trace Staffing, Smithfield Foods, Newport News Waterworks, MasterCorp, Assemblers Incorporated and PeopleReady.

At 11 a.m. there will be a dedication ceremony for the Four Oaks Day Service Center.

Four Oaks supports homeless adults and families by helping them transition into employment, stable housing and independence.
