NEWPORT NEWS -- Police are investigating a murder after a man was shot near Colony Square Apartments just after 1:00 a.m. Saturday morning.
Investigators say they found 49 year old Patrick McWanza Hewett lying in the street with gunshot wounds.
Hewett was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Police believe the shooting stems from a previous argument and are searching for suspects.
