VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- Over 7,000 people lost power on Wednesday morning in Virginia Beach's Princess Anne district.

Dominion Energy says that just before 8 a.m., a goose flew into a substation at Davis Corner, causing the outage. At 8:56 power was restored to 5,400 customers, and another 1,700 customers had power come back on by 9:15.

The last 210 people had their power restored at 11:58 a.m..

Unfortunately, the goose did not survive the incident.
