NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) — Three military members in their 80s are continuing to serve the community.
Al Hoover, Merlin Kary, and Ray Campbell have volunteered over a decade each with The Salvation Army Hampton Roads Area Command as they continue to work to make the world around them a better place.
Hoover served 24 years in the Air Force, Campbell also served in the Air Force, and Kary retired from the Navy.
Regardless of the reason, Hoover, Campbell, and Kary are ready to serve whenever they are called upon. When Hurricane Florence hit, all three men were volunteering day-long shifts.
Even during Christmas Al, Merlin, and Ray help set up The Salvation Army Christmas Depot and sort through Angel Tree donations.
Thank you for your continuing service, gentleman!
