TAMPA, Fla. — It's been a breakthrough season for Nansemond River High alum Brandon Lowe and people are taking notice. Lowe had been added to the American League All-Star team. However, he will not play. Lowe is now on the 10-day injured list with a bruised shin.
Spending most of his time at second base for the Tampa Bay Rays, Lowe is batting .276 with an impressive 16 homers and 49 RBI's.
He made the team as a replacement for an injured L.A. Angel, Tommy La Stella who fouled a ball off his leg and suffered a fracture. Ironically enough, Lowe also fouled a ball of his leg this week causing the bruised shin.
