Franklin's Ford among area high school athletes signing early

At Franklin High School, Broncos tight end, Drelyn Ford goes south to play for Wake Forest University.

Several area high school athletes took advantage of the early signing period on Wednesday and it included several football players. As expected, Cox quarterback Tayvion Robinson goes with Virginia Tech while Bishop Sullivan Catholic lineman Adarious Jones heads to Texas A&M.

At Franklin High School, Broncos tight end, Drelyn Ford goes south to Winston Salem, North Carolina and play for Wake Forest University. He's 6-5, just over 200 pounds and ranks 86th in the country at his position. Ford felt the Demon Deacons were the right fit. "The atmosphere was great", he said. "I have a chance to play in the ACC."
