Larry Archie's first season at Granby High School would turn out to be his only one as he announced Friday he was resigning as head football coach. The Comets went 2-8. Archie said via text messege, "There is no job available there and not sure if it will work out next year." He also added, "Although unique, it was a good experience with a good group of players and a supportive administration." Archie is a guidance counselor at Churchland Middle School in Portsmouth and the drive back and forth to Norfolk proved too much.
He did help the Comets snap a 17 game losing streak and in the process won back to back games for the first time since the 2017 season.
