Archie resigns after a season as Granby football coach

Despite a 2-8 record, Larry Archie helped the Comets snap a 17 game losing streak and won back to back games for the first time since 2017.

Larry Archie's first season at Granby High School would turn out to be his only one as he announced Friday he was resigning as head football coach. The Comets went 2-8. Archie said via text messege, "There is no job available there and not sure if it will work out next year." He also added, "Although unique, it was a good experience with a good group of players and a supportive administration." Archie is a guidance counselor at Churchland Middle School in Portsmouth and the drive back and forth to Norfolk proved too much.

He did help the Comets snap a 17 game losing streak and in the process won back to back games for the first time since the 2017 season.
