The Denny Hamlin Short Track Showdown came to Langley Speedway for the first time and Denny Hamlin took the checkered flag in his own race for the second time.
Hamlin was a track champion at Langley in 1998. He last won the Showdown in 2011.
In a race that the local drivers win half of the time, Hamlin and his Cup Series teammate Kyle Busch, covered the field. Busch has won the event three times.
The race was slowed by numerous caution flags there was one constant, Hamlin and Busch were running out front.
In the end Busch played nice. Hamlin said after the race, if it was the Kyle Busch Showdown, the result may have been different.
